At the completion of this course the student should be able to:
Course Contents The course explains the diesel generator air intake and exhaust system component structures and functions. The course gives special emphasis on how to select and size mufflers for different applications and how to size exhaust pipes using different pipe configuration and engines, taking into consideration the backpressure, temperature and other factors. The last part of the course discusses the air and exhaust system parameters and instruments. This course is the fifth of series of courses on the diesel engine covering the engine itself, fuel system, cooling system, lube oil system, air exhaust system and electric starting system. The course material consists of the main lesson followed by a quiz exam. The student should the lesson completely then answer the quiz questions to pass this course.
